The goals of the educational and training efforts of the Department of Structural and Chemical Biology are to provide our trainees with the conceptual and theoretical basis for quantitative molecular investigations of biological processes. Our approach is anchored in the idea that informatics, structure, energetics and dynamics are the essential quantitative descriptions that link molecular systems with biological function. Thus, the educational and training efforts in the Department of Structural and Chemical Biology focus on three interdisciplinary areas, which reflect the research interests of the faculty in the Department and the interactions with other departments and institutions. These areas are:
Biophysics, Structural Biology and Bioinformatics
Computational Biology
Chemical Biology
